Goodbye South East Asia and hello Australia! After almost five months in Asia, we are finally making our way down to Australia this Friday and we’ll be beginning a whole new segment of our journey.
Now that we are approaching the end of our trip, our budget is getting tighter and we’re focusing more on big activities rather than spending more time in our destinations. So far, we’ve got our Australia trip somewhat planned out and here’s what we’ll be doing over the next month:
Live-Aboard and Advanced Certifications
Yesterday, we booked a 2 night, 3 day live-aboard where, as the name suggests, we’ll be living aboard a boat for a few days. Here we’ll be getting our PADI Advanced Certifications and going on 11 dives on The Great Barrier Reef, a world wonder that is sadly dying as we speak. We can’t wait!
Road Trip Down the Coast
After a few days of diving, we’ll be renting a camper van and driving from Cairns to Sydney over a few weeks. We’ll be staying at camp sites and looking for beautiful places to stop along the way, so if you have any recommendations, please let us know. It’s sure to be the road trip of a life time!
Seeing my Sister in Sydney
This is just in the planning phases and I’m not getting my hopes up until the plane ticket is paid for, but my youngest sister, Liz, just graduated and I got news that she may be coming out to visit us for a few weeks! We’re talking a week in Sydney and maybe even a week in New Zealand. Stay tuned!
Now that we’ve been traveling for almost a year, we really want to start providing some more helpful posts so that you too can book a trip like this if you’re interested. If there’s something you want to know more about, let us know in the comments below and we will write a post on it!
The next month in Australia is going to be amazing and we can’t wait to start exploring yet another new country. Be sure to follow us on our social media accounts if you haven’t already. For now, we’ll be sitting around until 2:30 am until our flight.
Until Next Time,
